Unwrap me like cellophane and see
coax my veils of protection
away
with your eyes where the petals
peel gently from you, and all of your wrappings
crumple through fingers to nothing,
and liquid stars
when I nip with thorns
that scratch at
your heart, and your skin, in search
of dead-calm, each kiss exchanged
for a moment in arms that want only
your touch, and your time,
entwined around you like welcome
vines of ivy
through frequent blooms;
fading red tracks that my nails
leave on you; and the instant of
cherished
beauty,
and pleasure, that quenches our thirst
beyond laudable measure of the
azurite rain;
…droplets bead
on your flawless face, and we gaze
at this delicate
rose we have made, and agree…
…it has infinite grace.
If I had even an ounce of your poetic talent. Thank you Amy. Happy Valentines. xx
